Description

Bjørn Rune Lie (b. 1977) is an illustrator and writer from Drammen. He graduated from Falmouth College of Arts in England, and is at the time working from Bristol. Lie has written and illustrated three children’s books – Welhavens vase (2004), Slapsefjell (2008) and The Wolf’s Whistle (2010). He has also made several drawings for magazines, newspapers and album covers, and many of these have been awarded with prizes and diplomas.

The print in the artist’s own words: «The image is inspired by old botanical illustrations and sumptuous Indian Chintz textiles, and I have created my own frankensteinian flower. It’s composed of spooky orchids like Paphiopedilium and Dracula Vampira, the bizarre and gigantic Titan Arum, and Tacca Chantrieri, also known as the Devil Flower.»
